OUR VALUES
An open space
DIGIT is an open festival in the broadest sense of the term. Open to diverse profiles, different trajectories, and multiple ways of inhabiting music and digital culture.
It is not a space designed for closed circles or for experts in whatever. It is a temporary meeting place where critical thinking about digital technology, attentive listening, sonic experimentation, conversation, dancing and community coexist.
The festival is not defined only by what it programs, but also by the movement it generates. People travel to a specific place to share an intensity that is not common, something like an old pilgrimage now convened by a strangely digital environment. The journey itself is part of the experience.
Territory
A meeting point
DIGIT takes place in a specific rural environment, but it is not an event closed in on itself. It is a meeting point that connects creators, audiences and different scenes with this place.
The festival generates movement: people travel from different places to share a singular experience in a non-urban context. Some of these journeys are long, while others are very short, coming from our immediate surroundings. We want to care for these latter ones with particular attention, because without them the festival would not be possible.
For this reason we offer especially favourable access conditions for the people of Pratdip (a 70% discount on any festival ticket, provided it is purchased in person at the Agrobotiga de Pratdip — our authentication mechanism is that simple), and also for people from our surrounding region, namely the counties of Baix Camp and Ribera d’Ebre (a 30% discount on full passes and Saturday–Sunday passes).
We would like you to come, enjoy our proposal and build community near the rentadors of Pratdip and under the trees of Santa Marina.
Sustainability
Reducing light pollution
Waste reduction is not a secondary measure but a core design principle of the festival. We work to eliminate single-use materials and prioritise reusable systems across all services.
Living in a natural environment implies direct responsibility.
The festival takes place in an area with low light pollution. It may seem strange to talk about reducing light pollution at a festival that includes lasers and visuals, but we would like to invite you to observe the relatively dark skies of Pratdip and Santa Marina and to notice how much light pollution comes from the coastline.
Here, if you take a short walk, you can still see the main constellations, although the Milky Way is no longer clearly visible. Let’s preserve this together so the night can truly be ours.
You will notice that lighting in the camping area has been reduced to a minimum. We don’t want you to get lost on your way to your tent, but we also don’t want the light to disturb your sleep or outshine the stars.
We try to engage in dialogue with the darkness rather than cancel it out. The night is something worth preserving — both as a social space in which to celebrate, and as an environmental good that allows us to dream of a wider world.
ACCESSIBILITY
AND INCLUSION
Physical accessibility
We work to ensure that all spaces are accessible for people with reduced mobility. The natural environment does not always make this easy.
The Friday venues are at ground level or have access via lift.
The Saturday venue is at ground level and accessible by wheelchair, as it has a completely flat concrete floor, provided that you can descend about 10 m along a dirt path. It is not impossible. It is not even particularly difficult if you come with someone, and if you let us know in advance we can help you. However, you should be aware that during these 10 m the terrain will not be completely flat. Apart from that, everything is accessible.
The camping area is reached via a path of about 50 metres, with little slope but an irregular and stony surface. It is not inaccessible in absolute terms, but it would require constant assistance in the case of a wheelchair.
At this point, support would need to come from your own group or companions, as the festival organisation works with a small team and cannot guarantee continuous assistance in the camping area.
We prefer to explain this clearly. If you have any questions, please contact us and we can send you videos of the site or detailed information so that you and your group can assess it calmly. We would like you to come. But we also want you to know exactly under what conditions the experience takes place.
A space for community
We do not tolerate any form of discrimination or abuse based on gender, identity or sexual orientation, origin, age, belief or any other condition.
The music can be intense. The night can be expansive. Even opinions about our installations may generate strong controversy… But everything must take place within a framework of mutual respect and consent. Everyone should be able to experience the festival in their own way, without fear or pressure from others.
Zero tolerance for harassment
Any situation of harassment or aggression is incompatible with our project.
The festival team will act immediately in response to any inappropriate behaviour in order to ensure a safe space for everyone.
If you experience or witness any situation of harassment, please go to the bar and let the staff know so that we can activate our protocol in response to possible sexist and/or LGTBIQ+phobic aggression.
