Ylia
Susana Hernández, aka Ylia, is one of the most distinctive and prolific voices in contemporary electronic music in Spain. Positioned between experimental electronics, contemporary composition and club culture, her work has taken her to some of the leading international festivals, including Sónar, Primavera Sound, MUTEK and MIRA, while also expanding into performing arts and film composition.
She is the author of two landmark albums within the Spanish experimental electronic scene, Dulce Rendición (Paralaxe, 2020) and Ame Agaru (Balmat, 2023), alongside releases on acclaimed labels such as Hivern and Lapsus. Among her most recent works are the soundtrack for Corredora (dir. Laura García Alonso, 2025), premiered at the Málaga Film Festival, and the music for Segundo Premio (dir. Isaki Lacuesta), selected as the Spanish submission for the 2024 Academy Awards.
Ylia’s constantly evolving artistic practice extends across multiple collaborations, including the live club electronics duo People You May Know (with Phran), the audiovisual project Fantasma Sur (with Isaki Lacuesta, Alondra Bentley and Albert Coma), and live performances with Niño de Elche, reflecting an inherently multidisciplinary approach.
Beyond production and live performance, she hosts La Guarida on Radio Relativa, a platform from which she explores sound, interpretation and composition beyond genre boundaries.
On stage, Ylia builds immersive sonic narratives through a precise yet intuitive approach to mixing. Her hypnotic sets move naturally between introspection and euphoria, dissolving genre boundaries and shaping emotionally intense dancefloor experiences.
